Oh my Gosh that's magnificent! Just had to butcher one of my Oncid hybrids myself - possible case of Brown rot, still experimenting - and this is the first such incident for me. It's only been maybe 2 weeks but pbulbs are definitely shriveling a bit more. I would love to hear how you cared for your little guy and got such great results! Mine are potted in medium bark (I cut the plant in two; one part in bud but still discolored, the other two pbulbs showed no signs of disease so I potted them separately).

Great job and congrats. What is this plant btw?

Hi,

Thanks! I didn't do much really, except cut off the yellowing psb and dead looking roots, stuck it in medium bark and watered sparingly, and spritzed leaves in between with either plain water or water with a little fertilizer solution in it.

It's a NoID unfortunately, so I don't know the name. It makes yellow flowers with brown spots. Oh, the other thing I did was to cut off the flower spike since that drains energy from the plant, and since I wanted the plant to survive I decided the flowers were less important at that stage.

FYI this was my first attempt at growing anything other than a Phal, so admittedly I'm no expert and will doubtless encounter problems down the road. For now, it's enough to know it's not dead and should live to see another flowering season!
