Just had to have one.
Went to Home Depot and it looked like a stampede had passed through! OMG! Those poor orchids! All broken pots shattered!
So at the clearance rack I found the usual motley assortment of waterlogged Phals, chose 2 and an Oncidium, no further name, hoping it's a fragrant Golden Urchin, but I'll take whatever comes. Also my daughter spotted 2 teeny little 2 inchers called 'Equitant Orchids' Got those also.
Then we went to Sam's but no orchids. Then at the checkout line, lo and behold, there, on a for sale table was a lonely Phal, being used as decor. Walked up to it and it was dry as a bone! Good sized buds but they seemed to have not opened because of the neglect. This was it! This was my Phal! Paid full price and baby-ed it all the way home
.
Now it's resting comfortably in new medium, new box, (roots weren't too, too bad) in my 'Orchid Intensive Care Unit'
Ya think at least, maybe a couple of the buds will/may still open? Or is this what is called 'bud blast'?
Thanks guys!
