Yea, my zz almost went to plant heaven. It started off at a disadvantage, because it was rotting when I got it (it wasnt immediately obvious). Even though I repotted it into cactus mix, it continued to decline and I was losing one bulb after another. It is hard for me to neglect a plant. I like to just water when the soil is dry. But I stuck it in a corner behind some of my other plants and forced myself to forget it was there. It hasnt done anything in months, which is a lot better than it was doing before. They are beautiful plants when they are healthy though. I can see why you like them.

Yeah that is one plant that thrives on neglect.

Root Rot on Walmart Orchid
Default New question!

This morning I noticed some fuzzy white spots on some of the roots. Doesnt look or feel like mold. The root that it is on is firm. The spots themselves feel very fuzzy. It reminds me of my african violet leaves. It is not slimy, and doesnt wipe off. It seems like it could be normal, but I just wanted to make sure.

That looks normal.

Healthy roots do this, it seems to help them cling to things (they cling to trees when growing wild). I always think the new roots are looking really healthy when I see the white fuzz on them.

That's what it looks like in the picture to me.
