On the subject of Paphs... Female

I'm fairly new to Orchids overall but I now have 4 Paphs in my collection.

The first - Hsinying Majakun '#7' x Hilo Green 'Perfection' - I bought because it was the first Paph I saw after taking more interest in my Phals! I got it about a year ago in bloom. It hasn't tried to bloom at all since but it has been growing a new growth for many months now, okay a lot longer than that, due to my not watering it enough. I came here, learned quite a bit, repotted it and the new growth seemed to start growing again. But I had potted it too big (only one growth, one new) so I repotted yet again in a much smaller container with bark/moss mix filling only top half of 4" pot, the bottom is full of clay pebbles. As of several weeks ago 2 new roots are growing. Again, from what I've learned here I think I wasn't watering it enough, even now I'm going to have to remind myself to turn up my watering regimen. I keep it with my group of Phals near an east window but keep it near the back of the group. For the most part I've been watering weakly, weekly, sometimes two weeks.

My second I've had for 6 weeks, Paph 'Pink Fred', it was in bud when I got it. Had three blooms, one just fell off but it seems to have done so for the 4th bud that has been developing.

What have you been doing to your Paphs in terms of watering and lighting? Perhaps starting there will help further. I'm in the Midwest & my house is kept fairly warm in the winter with A/C on and off in summer and fall (& today).

I hope things turn around for you! YOU CAN DO IT!
