When I picked this guy up in the 'scratched and dented' section of Lowes, I figured that this is only some injury related issue, but with all the virus talk over the last few days, I've become concerned. I looked up some virus images and saw a pic of a leaf that was marked like this. What do y'all think? Beat up at the store or something that should be watched and worried about?
Its a mechanical damage. The wound have healed well, there is no yellow ring around the scraped surface (yellow ring means it is fighting an infection). It has some fertilizer crystal deposits on the leaf that you can wipe out with a wet paper towel.
Other than that ....the plant has taken well in your environment and thriving.
Either mechanical damage, or a snail/slug passed by. Just watch out no disease starts there (you can put cinnamon powder on the hole) and no new bites appear (if so, it'll be time to search the beast).
Thank you all so very much. I don't have an extensive collection (yet), but I would hate to have anything happen to them. That said, I love the challenge of trying to save the unloved, and was really hoping that hadn't just come back to bite me in the behind.
I really appreciate y'all taking the time to ease my mind.
