Rot on Phal leaf?

Need help, once again...

I have a Phal that is developing some kind of fungus on a leaf. I bought it a couple months ago from a local show and haven't repotted it yet. It seems that it was probably potted too low so the bottom leaf was always touching the moss it's in. I am wondering if I should repot now or if I can wait until it's done blooming. I have seen people say they put cinnamon on fungus' or rot and thought that may help. I just noticed it a couple days ago and have been avoiding getting any water near it when I spray them.

You look to be keeping this phal too wet. This is a bacterial infection brought about by keeping the media too wet. I would repot this and cut off the compromised part of the leaf with a razor blade. Then dab some powdered cinnamon on the cut edge. Don't sprinkle the cinnamon on the leaf but just dab some one the edge.

I can definitely do less watering! I use the "dip" method to really give them a good soaking usually once a week. Skipped last week since it's been rather dreary and cloudy here and it seems as though they haven't dried out as fast as normal. Every couple of days I give the ones that are drying out a misting when I get home from work. Will soak the bark today and repot tomorrow.

I would skip the misting. Phals do not need this. They like to dry out, not stay moist. That's how the rot got into the leaf, you're keeping the plant a bit too wet.

Thanks Random I put a good amount of bark in the mix, probably 75% bark 25% sphag. It was in straight sphag before so it should dry much quicker now.

I repotted her today. I got her in bloom and the vendor didn't do a great job staking her so I had to prop the spike in a corner to keep from tipping over. I assume it's not a overly terrible thing right now since it will get less light which seems a good thing for a just-potted plant.

Would it be harmful to clip that spike off? Its still blooming and has about 15 flowers on it now.

I can't see it being harmful, but you won't see blooms on this again until next year. The blooms will last longer if you leave it alone until they fall off on their own.
