If you haven't already, I suggest you get some mix over the new roots to ensure a healthy new bulb.

Often when people buy orchids they get them a few years out from blooming. Orchids can be very expensive plants. A specimine size can run you a hundred to several hundred.

Orchids grow slowly. I had to study that to see why. They are CAM plants, and have swapped fast growth in order to live as xerophytes, as epiphytes. So no, you cannot speed up the growth of the plant if it can put out one leaf and one flower a year. This is why for centuries orchids have been the epitomy of the desirous and hard to get. People died for these guys. Makes you think, dosent it?

Thank you Cym Ladye. I did not realize that the new roots needed to be covered. That may explain why the leaves have died on some of the other bulbs. (Well they actually never did turn into new bulbs.)
Again, Thank You
