It's really hard for me to make out what's going on in your pictures.
I don't know if this is rot or not, but something has definitely happened to the stem as it seems to be at an odd angle.
I suppose you could hope for a keiki, but if it were me and I was planning to perform major surgery on a plant in my collection and I didn't have a lot of money invested in said plant (less than 30$) and the plant was easy enough to replace (like at a big box store, or from the internet) then I'd probably pitch it and go buy another one just like it.
