Default Help with new growth identification please :)

I got this orchid in December, it was my second, the first one I killed thoroughly (root rot then crown rot...r.i.p.) and even though it had a severe case of root rot, it has survived
All that remained of its root system was the thin hard inner root but with the help of fellow forum members I've managed to keep it hanging in there. A few days ago I noticed a new growth...a little bump. I'm hoping desperately that it's a new root. Can anyone tell me for sure one way or another?

Just keep doing whatever it is that you're doing now and you should be ok! Before long, you'll see new leaves and maybe in a year or so... a spike!

And when this happens (and I'm sure it will) don't forget to post it.

Not a chance! I don't post much because I don't feel I have much to offer yet but I'm usually here reading posts. There's so much positive energy here. I will share all my small victories with you all...you're with me every step of the way anyway <3
