Healthy Pruning

Now I have some Diaphananthe, and exactly as according to the manual they grow into untidy masses. Before they take too much light away from other orchids I want to do some pruning / shaping. Anybody having experience with Diaphananthe pruning? Which pruning rules do I need to follow? It is not about pruning old or sick plant parts, I want to cut into perfectly healthy plant parts.

it is very tempting to try to create the perfect form in every plant....but, alas, orchids do not lend themselves to such conformation.....they really need every bit of healthy growth to give you that beautiful display of blooms that we all strive for....I would not advise trimming any new and healthy growth if you want blooms, for that is where the blooms originate! good luck, and think about bonsai!
