Talking Update in post 7 & 13. Well this is exciting...right?

I have posted about my cattleya a few times. Flowers are coming, right? Does anyone know how long I need to wait? Do I need to do anything different at this time or after it blooms?

Congrats!!!

No, continue to do whatever you have been doing.
When I first got my hands on cattleyas, I was always check the center of the new lead looking for buds.
It is so rewarding to see the buds after long wait.

I think you will see the flowers in about a month or so.

Lookin' good!!

I see buds and new roots.

With the light levels increasing, if you grow in natural light, things should progress steadily.

I'd bet 3 weeks, but I don't bet.

Thanks!!! I keep it on on a sunny windowsill and move it outside on nice days. I have been watering once a week. I am getting very excited to see some blooms!

That's really exciting! I would also guess a month, give or take a week or two. Post pictures of the blooms when they open!

It takes some time for the buds to form. Just keep watering. I like to give them more sun at this time too since sun is food.

Once the buds are open, I would recommend you keep it out of direct sunlight. IME, most flowers -- whether they be orchids, African violets, or what have you -- tend "wear out" faster if exposed to the heat of direct sunlight shining on them.
