New orchid arrived today

It is snowing like mad and our high today is 1F, but FedEx brought my Pot. Fairyland. When I ordered it, it said nothing about bud or bloom and I was expecting just a nice plant. I was so surprised when I saw the three buds! Now I'm worried about bud blast though. The orchid came from ideal conditions to my living room, what a shock that is! If it should bloom for me, I'll post pictures. Oh yes, it is supposed to be fragrant too. It is my first Catt. and I want to find out, if I can grow them in my conditions.

I'm willing to wait for flowers for weeks, even months, as long as the buds don't blast.

Keep it just a tad on the dry side and you shouldn't have any trouble. It's the cold on their roots which cause the buds to blast. Water it with warm water and keep it warm. High light levels if you can.

I love the cattleya family. I am no good at phals ( yet manage to keep 8 alive) but my catts, oncs, and dends are amazing! Sadly, this years budget for orchids has been spent, but next year, I hope to go deeper into more unusual types.

Thank you all for the nice comments and advice. I have already inspected the buds and they look the same as yesterday. So far, so good.
