Unhappy phal nodes with spike nubs

All,
I am extremely stumped on this one and have googled and have not found any info on this.

My three Phals all have new spikes along the nodes and are slowly peeking out, but they are extremely slow growing.

They have no signs of new roots , or leaves but they are loaded with new nubs just slightly poking out to say " hello".

How long do they actually take ??? Patience !!! , I guess waiting for them to grow is hard but killing them is harder lol. Im so happy they are alive still

for reading and all the advice I receive on this site is def paying off , Ashley.

I have a phal I am allowing to re-bloom off old spent spikes. I usually don't but this is a very healthy phal so why not? Anyway....it has taken 4 months to grow buds beyond mere bumps. So patience Grasshopper.

If they do not have roots, keeping the spike might be killing it, as in draining the energy needed for root production, on the other hand if it is a keikei, you might have a new plant. I guess it all comes down to whether the plant is more valuable than the flowers.
