as far as hanging them in the tree, you can get stout wire hangers intended for clay pots...and of course, the clay pots...use pots large enough to just set your pots down inside, and they will be secure in the winds and weather...I don't really like the thin wire hangers....personal choice....any good supplier will have those....good luck!

Thank you for the tips everyone. I put my orchid outside for the first time last weekend when it was sunny, but I didn't leave it out there for too long. I thought it needed some sun as the leaves have started to turn yellow. It looks a little bit better now, but am always afraid of leaving it out too long.
