Sitting here, my head swimming........
....with visions of beautiful orchids. I have just left (for today anyway) the San Diego County Orchid Show. Of course I purchased a bunch of rescues and other donated orchids. Mainly catts, laelias, potinaras, and a few phals. Nothing earth shaking but plants I will culture well and get blooms next season. Here is what it looked like and some of the displays. And of course the vendors area. If you ever get a chance to see a good orchid show, don't miss it.

After being a newbie, then getting more orchids and studying orchids, I am happy to be able to tell a lot of those apart on a small screen android device. My first orchid show will be in May, can't wait. Can't afford a lot, but I know I will get something new to try. If there is a rescue and donation table there, I'd love it! So far most of mine have been rescues! Or what I'd like to call "dog pound" orchids.

Wow! What a show. It looks like there were a lot of vendors. Is there a club that displays? Judging?

This is the San Diego County Orchid Society's annual spring show and sale. The displays are created by the various orchid clubs and small growers around San Diego County as well as farther north. Cal Orchids had a display there as well as a couple of other less well known growers in LA. The displays are judged by members of the San Diego club and most of them are AOS judges. The show tables are put up by the Club too and the orchids judged in their respective categories. A very nice show to say the least.
