Shultz Orchid Plant Food
I had bought Schultz's Orchid Plant Food last night so I could use it my weekly watering this weekend. The strength is 15-5-5 however I've seen people using different ratios (hope this is making sense). I checked the packaging for contents of Urea as well but it doesn't state that there is urea in in there. Does anyone have experience using this product and if it is good to use? It states it is good for all varieties of orchids.

I googled the product as well and no results. I am thinking this is a new product?

Shultz Orchid Food is an old product. I have used it in years past. It comes with an eye dropper.

I've tried it once, and I noticed the result in a couple of days. So I can say it works.

Shultz has two orchid foods, the liquid is 15-5-5 but they also have a granulated that dissolves in water which is 19-31-17. I haven't been able to figure out why they have the two different types as they are both called orchid food, the labels are basically the same other than the numbers. Obviously one is more for root growth and the other is better used for blooms.

I used the various Shults plant foods for many years. I even used it on bonsai. It works as well as most others. I have switched to Grow-More Orchid food but really like Ray's fertilizer with calcium/manganese along with some KelpMax. No I'm not a mouth piece for him. I just like his more than most others I've tried. But Shults is good.

Thank you for all of the responses.
In response to ajeatoo: Does more nitrogen help with the root growth? I'm not very familiar with fertilizer ratios and will have to do more research on that.
My one phal is needing more root growth since I had to chop off most of its dead roots. It has about 3 healthy roots left. I figured any kind of food is better then none when I was looking at all the selections. I initally had the miracle grow slow release capsules but I was worried it would not provide what was needed for orchids over the long run. I watered all my orchids yesterday with the 15-5-5 (I followed the weakly/weekly rule and diluted even more so then the instructions) and I'm looking forward to seeing what results it will produce.

I also want to ask, I read somewhere that someone placed cinnamon on the ends, after cutting away the dead roots. I did not do this but I'm wondering if I should have? What would be the purpose of this?

Cinnamon is a natural antiseptic. I saw some video where people don't use it, but I do. Just in case

Nitrogen causes vegetative growth. That is roots, leaves, pseudobulbs, in fact the entire plant except for the flowers.
