Default Spotted Phal. What is it?

I just got done not to long ago plowing through the last of the Dexter episodes on Netflix. And in the last couple of seasons, Dexter's girlfriend grows orchids. The first one she gifts him with is a "blood spatter" orchid, which looks absolutely amazing. I can't find a name for it beyond "blood spatter" in reference to the tv show.

Here's a similar picture, although I don't think this is one from the show, it's the closest I could find of it.

She's just so darn pretty. There's a black orchid that Dexter is gifted with too, but I haven't looked for pictures yet.

Mod, if this is in the wrong spot, I'm sorry.

There are quite a lot of these spotted Phals, all slightly different and they could even have different pattening of the spots each time they open.

There is no way to know exactly what is used in the show, in fact they probably picked up a NoID for filming as you find these all the time in the selection of NoID's in general stores.

If you want one it's probably best to just keep your eye out for something that matches to your satisfaction.

I have one called Sogo Lovely, but it has much smaller flowers than this. Others might be able to suggest other names of similar looking ones, or as I say you might be able to spot a NoID somewhere that looks like it.

I'll keep an eye out, although I may have to change where I am looking. Most of the time I see solid purple or white orchids in the box stores. I haven't yet started on the nurseries in the area.

Thanks Rosie.

This isn't *exactly* like the one you have in your picture, but it might be Phalaenopsis Yu Pin Pearl. Or Yu Pin Panda, or Yu Pin Fairy, lol. OR it could be Phalaenopsis Everspring Fairy.

I agree with Rosie. I see this type of orchid a lot in my local grocery store. Lowes had new boxes of orchids about to be unpacked and I went through them and they had a lot of spotted ones like that.

Can I visit your Lowes? Haha I have 4 Lowes and 5 Home Depots within 15 to 20 minutes of me in any given direction, and every one seems to be white or purple!!!!!!! I'll keep my eyes peeled though as the season progresses.

I don't know if there's a Giant where you are (grocery store), but I had one just like in your picture and I got it at Giant. It was a Just Add Ice orchid. You could try their website, too (the Just Add Ice folks).
