I agree 100% - especially the latter. The bright green color "screams" excess nitrogen, which is well-known to quash blooming.
I used to think that excess nitrogen was a function of the formula used, and the 6-30-30 is a "low-N" formula, but now I realize that even a very low-N formula, if used too often and/or at to high a concentration, can give the same overdosing.
I am currently using a formula with a very high ratio (K-Lite @ 12-1-1), but use it at such a dilute application rate (35 ppm N), that I am avoiding all such issues.
