Btw, how long should I keep them more shaded than not? I brought it back out into the room with east window yesterday and have yet to open the window fully but I crack it some so the light does come in. Is this okay? Too much? Not enough? Thanks!

:-)

East window is fine. Just no bright light until the roots start growing.

Update!

Thank you all so much for your help! My mini Phal who as it turns out does have a name:
Dtps. Sogo Yenlin 'M-P0667' "Sunrise Petite"
appears to be doing well.

Its leaves are holding themselves up and pretty firm. Even better yet in the last week I've noticed that it has a new root growing on the surface though I'm not sure what the roots are doing below I'm sure from the looks of it they're good!

I can't wait for this little guy to one day throw a spike again even if it hasn't in years, literally. Now that I've learned so much - and become addicted with two more Orchids on the way and a trip to Hausermann's planned! - from this forum I'm confident Sunrise will one day flower again. At that time I'll get to remember what the flowers look like! Don't tell me because I want to be surprised!

Thanks over and over again!
Lotis
