A little sunshine....
I thought I would send a little sunshine out for all those shut ins out there this winter. It's raining here in SoCal. That what they said this stuff was anyway. People are walking around looking up at the sky and wondering what this stuff is.

Cute!
We here in Nor-Cal are also wondering about that wet stuff falling from the sky
We must have had quite some wind last night - My Den kingianum is tucked up on the sheltered porch, house extends a good amount past the porch, so it should be well protected from the weather ... I found a keiki (was not attached well to the parent), had come completely off, and several feet away from the porch!

Far north Callie here. Yes, the mysterious H2O falling from the heavens is called 'rain'. It has been rumoured to exist but most of us forgot from its protracted absence.
I set out some of my phals for a few hours to soak up the rain, as I doubt any of them have ever actually known rain but the wind has picked up too fast to take the chance, today.
Oh I hope this continues! We are going to be in such a bad way this summer, for us and for everyone who eats the food we produce!

Is that what it was? I thought I lost my mind and showered fully dressed.
I had to go out and upright and brace my potted lime.

In our case, it comes packaged in a lovely white crystalline shape during the winter that requires removal with a snow shovel and in summer, outdoor events are rather difficult to plan due the frequency of the form you are now experiencing.
And, about that white form, we have had enough for one year! Sadly, however, it is predicted that we will be getting more.

We're had more than our share of the white stuff this year, that's for sure. For all you folks in CA--I'd be happy to send it your way if I could.....
Hope you continue to get moisture and start to get water levels back up to what you need!

My daughter thinks I've lost my mind! I tell her all those containers I'm filling are liquid gold. I have a garage full of rain water.

You have not lost your mind, you're doing what you can! That's good!
I already have the 2,600 gallon, 500 gallon tanks and three 55 gallon drums under downspouts full of water. My swimming pool will be pressed into service this summer too. I plan on keep it covered to reduce evaporation and as another rain catcher.
If this precipitation doesn't continue for a good long time it is going to be a tense and heartbreaking year for me. Five acres and a lifetime of collecting ornamentals with no water is going to be tough.

Your garden is absolutely stunning. We'll keep hoping the rain stays with us for awhile.
