I don't know, it's awfully hot up here in the summer! (Redding) Can you handle it? I have an extra shovel, rake and digging fork...but we'll have to share the rototiller!

{waving hand wildly!!} I cannot stay all year, but would be more than happy to come help during our winter months. I'll bring my mantis and extra shovel, and a whole truckbed of rabbit manure. Deal?!?

Glad you are getting some much needed rain. Yes indeed we here need your crops for the winter and until my garden gets going. I don't like getting things that come from Mexico as I am not sure what kind of chemicals they use.

Wow your garden looks fantastic. Must have been before it got real dry. Because your grass is still green yep it's white here also. And freaking cold, I think it's going to get into the teens today.

It certainly is a winter of contrasts and extremes! Too much cold and precipitation back east and too warm and too little precipitation in the west.

Every 70° day we've had makes me know we are borrowing against a good springtime. It's nice but I'd be more than willing to wait under cloudy, cold skies for its proper time.

But we even had a modest snowfall this winter, despite the drought. A great photo session! Snow in California - Imgur A freak storm dumped snow on the valley and left our greatest snow-catchers; Mt. Shasta and Lassen Peak, bare of their ermine mantles.

Rabbit manure is a good deal! I use cow manure from my own barns and pine shavings mixed with sheep and horse manure from the neighbor for mulch. Poop is the best! We can garden all winter if the starts are in the ground by mid August.

Here's hoping to a return to the normal. At least the normal we know!

We're in a rain forest area, and until recently we were hardly getting any rain or snow for months now. We were starting to worry, but now we are getting snow. It's covering up all of the flowers.
