This winter has been really crappy! On the coldest day this year, we actually had to heat a pot and set it on the surface to open a hole in the ice of the pond for out-gassing. This is with 3 airstones and a de-icer running as well! Bleh!

I probably wouldn't have any issues with the lotus overunning my pond because my koi are such little pigs. They eat anything slower than them.

Tell me about it! I'm usually a winter person, but this has become tiresome. It's like in the 20s or below practically every day and there's always ice and/or snow covering the sidewalks! I've lived here for almost 20 years now and never saw it like this!

Laserbeak, Graingers Supply (online) sells metal tags that are impressible. I write my plant info on them and they last for years. Better than any other tag I've ever used and I've used them all. Go to tags and you'll find them. Here's a pic of one....

James those are really nice! I have this sweet little letter stamp set from Harbor Freight that would work beautifully on those too!
