I have my orchids in southern window sunlight from 8am to 2pm ish and all my leaves still look dark green ? I dont know why ? Can anyone expl ain pls , thanks in advance.

Genetics? Could be that is how it is.... As long as everything else is alright. I have a Phal with dark green leaves and she is super healthy and currently spiking for me.

You mention that you have "orchids"- what kind of orchids? That can affect the answer. As Mingny mentioned, there can be a genetic factor in there. There are some phals and paphs that have quite dark leaves (those that have dark or red pigmentation tend to be the most common types seen with this). Otherwise, even though you are in Somerset and they get that sunlight, it is still winter in the Northern Hemisphere- the sunlight will not be as strong as it would be in summer, so that may have a factor in this as well. I would keep an eye on them and see how they are growing. It is very possible to have a healthy orchid with dark leaves.

Yes, some are just naturally dark. As teen in central Arkansas I had a Cattleya hybrid, Lc. Springtime, that did this. During the summer is was outside and from 11am until 5pm. It received direct unfiltered sun. It was a very dark green no matter how much sun it got.
