Default phal aerial root turning brown

This is my first post. Unfortunately I can't post a picture yet, but I'll give as much information as possible.
In the past six months my phalaenopsis has grown three beautiful aerial roots. I bought this plant in the beginning of 2012, so I thought it was time to repot it. Shortly after (maybe a week) I noticed one of the roots starting to look funny. As I'm writing this and comparing one root to another, it seems like the sick one is retaining water. I watered a couple days ago, and the other two are all silvery. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Hmmm... is that root firm, or soft / squishy?

A pic is definitely helpful ... 5 posts are needed before you can post one, so just post a few more times

It's pretty firm. It seems completely healthy except for what I described.

After I repotted, this root touches the bark a little bit, but I can't imagine that would hurt it.

Root turnover in plants. Roots are fairly short lived, and go through a life cycle. As long as not all are turning brown and dying... the nice silver ones are the young healthy roots.

Being an aerial root, it could be browning just from being exposed to light and dry air, perhaps.

Roots in the pot look good?

The new roots I mentioned all started growing at the same time.

Oh! Dry air might be it. I wonder if I can post pics now

Really? The first is the one that concerns me. But if you think it's fine then I won't worry
