A primer on roots for the newer growers among us. Roots have two parts and age at different rates. The white/silver coating on them is called velamin. It is a spongy material that absorbs water and releases it at a given rate to the actual root inside. When young, the velamin hasn't expanded enough to absorb much water. As the spongy velamin ages the tissue expands more and more. Velamin that has matured absorbs water quickly and the root turns green/brown/darker silver. Yours exhibits normal behavior. It looks fine.
