Even though my first orchid show was a dud, my first orchid meeting wasn't!

Got these guys at my first orchid society meeting last night. Everyone was SO warm and welcoming. We had James Alexander Fowler (author of Wild orchids of SC) as our guest speaker. I feel like I really learned a lot! I can't wait to go camping this year and look for wild orchids.

Best part was the raffle. They did have one SC native orchid for raffle, but I didn't win it Something like 40 plants were raffled off. Spent $6 on tickets and got these 2 plants, so they were basically $3 each!

mari's song x Tokyo magic is a very nice orchid. I have both but not together. both are vigorous. congrats. in my orchid club we rig the raffle so the newbe's get most of the orchids. that way they "have" to come back.

Nice! I'm somewhat a member of my OS, but I've never made it to a meeting, it's 1.5 hours away. I do help out with the show and auctions though.
