Hello everyone. I've noticed some problems with my orchid leaves. Can you suggest the cause and how to get over them
.Does that phal look ok. Thanks in advance
Phalaenopsis can't store water like cattleyas can so they need moisture every day. It's OK to grow them like your last picture but if you grow them in a net pot with large media, you'll need to water real well almost every day. If you're not able to do that, you may want to use a pot and media that will hold moisture a little longer. Most of the other pictures look like mechanical damage to me. You don't need to worry about that. I'm not sure about the second picture. I've had that kind of look on some of my orchids and I don't know what it is. It might be some kind of sooty mold. Wash the undersides of those leaves with soap and water or with alcohol for starters. If you continue to have problems you may need something stronger.
Thank you orion141 I'll check them.
Sorry to irritate you WhiteRabbit.
It's just a newbie effect. I bought an orchid four years ago and all I knew was that it was an orchid. This Jan I woke up from dormancy ( just like orchids) and identified it to be a dendrobium, but yet to pinpoint it. Thanks to Orchidboard and you guys
Thank you Tucker85. I'll change the medium
Now I'm feeling somewhat relieved.
