I am new to this Forum. I've had this orchid ( dendrobium stardust firebird) for ages. Even saved it from mites 2 years ago, but it has Never reflowered at all. What should I do to encourage it?
Here's a pic of it when I first got it.
Please help

It requires bright light, and a rest period (little water, no fertilizer) during fall - winter.
I found this thread, which may be helpful Dendrobium Nobile Stardust (Correct name, btw, is Dendrobium Stardust 'Firebird' (Firebird being the cultivar)
- and hopefully other members can chime in!

I have the plant on a windowsill ...this is the brightest room! I have sun from Morning till the sun goes down, but I don't have a measuring device to say how bright that is exactely.
I am also attaching a more current picture and the fertilizer. Although it's in German the elements are the same. I fertilize it in the spring and Summer.

You have to give it cold winter rest. Think of it as nobile hybrid.
No cold winter, no flowers ever! period!
Do not freeze the plant because that will surely kill it.
If you have unheated room or extra space like garage, it is a good spot. but it you are opting for garage, then only leave the plant there during the night time. During the day, it still needs a lot of light.
Good luck and hope you see some nice orange flowers once more!
If you have a cold spot in your house, leave there until the flowers come naturally.
For example, here in NYC, I used to put nobiles in the balcony. Depending on how early the cold weather sets in, it usually gets cold in Novemer.
The balcony is cold but never goes below freezing. Most of the time, it was somewhere from 5C to 25C (day high on sunny days), and I saw buds forming by January. The flowers would open in February.
You can manipulate this cold period and make them bloom earlier, but you risk bud blast that way, so it is best to just let them do their thing.
You water less during this time, but not bone dry. especially once you see buds forming, water well.
