Default What's this thingy on the phal spike?

Is this a bud? It appears after the second node on my phal spike. I don't think it is because I never seen a flower that low on a spike before on a phal. Any ideas??

The first two pics was when it appears back in early Jan. The third was a month later.

Could it be?? Idk. A keiki?? But it hasn't grown much in a month.

I think its a keiki that was started then canceled. I saw something similar on out of my phal.s when I was experimenting with keiki paste. It started to form the keiki then canceled it just before a leaf grew.

It is a side spike that was aborted. Common.

Anyway to get it going again? I notice that this "thing" dried up at the tip when the second spike emerged.

No. It was going to be a side spike. It aborted for whatever reason and is dead.
