Some of my close colleagues have reviewed some of it; and they believe it to be a first of its kind complete information source book about the genus vanilla.
Could be they are just being kind, we shall see.
All the proceeds from the book will go right back into more orchid research; we are self-supporting in our research.

I not seeing the leaf now and can’t tell the direction the nodes are in.

Go to the website; I posted they have a great illustration of the correct and incorrect way. I believe that the web site can answer all your questions.

If it is up side down; then yes you must repot it but you will have to cut some of the old tissue away. The root end part gets cut at a 45 degree and the top at a 90 degree and the bottum should go into its soil atleast 3 nodes deep.

But do let me know if you are still having problems.

I posted a photo in the Social Group; I love vanilla so you can see the leaf direction and the commercial potting soil that I use.

I was given one from a friend and have it in a tabletop greenhouse along with a couple jewel orchids. What do you fertilize it with? It's growing fast already.

I have a slight problem in China most of the plant food that I have seen never tells you anything about 0-0-0 so I will not buy it. Miracle Gro does produced in China sold at some import gardening shops but not much to choose from 10-10-10 or 20-10-10 or 20-30-40 the words are in Chinese but I mix it ¼ to ½ it works well enough. Vanilla likes foods consider the potting soil break down before determining any food requirement. Oh I use the 10-10-10 every other watering; with the potting mix break down, my best one is growing 30 to 45 cm a month. The other one is now taken off just had a small problem of some root rot but fresh potting mix a small cut back now it growing well.
