Seaweed extract substitute for fertilizing?
Default Seaweed extract substitute for fertilizing?

I was wondering if there is some substitute, perhaps a dietary supplement from a health food store, that I could prepare somehow to use in place of a seaweed extract which I cannot find here and no one will ship it here?

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Seaweed extracts are intended to be supplements to fertilizers, not replacements for them. Your plants will do far better with regular, dilute fertilizer applications with no seaweed, than they will with seaweed and no fertilizer.

The problem with drug-store seaweed materials is that they are trying to supply different supplemental compounds than those that stimulate plant growth, so will do little for your plants.

Lilac, Ray is right. The seaweed you find in a dietary supplement store is not the same kind as those found in the plant nutrient supplements.

I would try to look in some of the landscaping gardens or nurseries- I would think that someone on the island would have something.

If not, I bought my MaxiCrop Seaweed Extract from Amazon- I think you would be able to get shipping, then, correct?

Best of luck!

Fortunately, Puerto Rico is considered domestic shipping rate for the USPS - I have shipped a fair amount of KelpMax there.
