I appreciate that correction, but need to add a little more about GA, in that it can cause RNA transcription errors, (though I'm not sure how) but also that this is not a mutation. That came from my confusion of GA with Colchicine. The likelihood of GA causing any mutation is very small (astronomically so), though there is a greater chance it can cause polyploidy or binucleation by interfering with/degrading the cells growth regulating proteins. If it is a cells job to produce a protein 'protein X' that will ensure a successful stage of replication, and due to the addition of GA before that protein x's production in cell development it breaks homeostasis, elongates, and begins mitosis, then something is far more likely to go wrong, though a mutation is almost totally excluded. That is all I was trying to explain.

GA is sometimes used to make sterile or non self-pollinating flowers fertile (I wonder if it would work on crossing a Howeara with a Tolumnia).

Additionally, it triggers production of alpha amylase, which is the enzyme that turns starch to sugar. This is the main reason why it is helpful to use liquid seaweed in germinating seeds that have an endosperm.

Apparently, the nutrients in banana peel are more beneficial than the hormone content, so if an application that discourages destructive fungi is used, it would be beneficial and promote growth.
