Fdk. After Dark Questions Male
Default Fdk. After Dark Questions

Hello everyone!
I was recently blessed with a new job, and the second day was so bad that I decided to get an orchid on my bucket list to celebrate

I ended up getting probably the most expensive one on my list, Fdk. After Dark.

I opened the box and instantly I was brought back home by the smell. The pine smell Probably one of the most priceless moments of my year yet.

But anyway....

I have some questions. first and foremost it is in bloom right now with no leaves. Do I water and how much do I water?

second, how often do you water these? I know this is a broad question and depends on growing medium... which is my final question for right now. What growing medium can be used for this?

Thank you!

You should have a look at sunset valley orchids website (it is were you got it from I guess), Fred Clarke explains very well how to grow them.
In any case, no water at all right now !!! And none until the new growths have leaves !

Fred is a very helpful grower and indeed he has some excellent info on the Sunset Valley website. The pbulb has enough water to last the period it blooms. No water until it has roots and starts leafing out.
