Dendrobium Winter Rest ?

I have a D. speciosum pedunculatum and a D. kingianum which I've been keeping cool and dry since it got cold. I'm seeing new vegetative growth on both plants, but no signs of any spikes. Is this a sign to start watering more, and perhaps placing them someplace warmer? Thanks!

I don't grow specio...
I fertilize my kingi year-round - watered less heavily in winter, but still water well about once a week. It does grow cool (outside in zone 9). Mine is usually starting to get nodes swelling (that become spikes) late summer already ... (perhaps due to cool night temps even in summer here)

If there's new growth, I'd definitely water at least. ..

Sonya is right, listen to your plant....if they produce new growth then water them....as soon as you notice the keikis are five inches in length then resume your watering regime....post pictures, it might be flower spikes .... who knows....

I grow the speciosum and I don't give it a dry winter rest. It gets watered as needed.

Thanks everyone for the help! I observed with my D. unicum that new leaves and spikes appeared pretty much simultaneously when it broke its dormancy. Both of these other plants are definitely growing new leaves, but no sign of any spikes. Am I out of luck as far as them blooming this season? TIA!

My speciosum blooms in the spring - February/March. I noticed today I think one of the growths appears to be getting a spike now.

New pbulbs on it appear after it blooms.
