wilting
i`m hoping to get help with my orchid`s blooms, the plant looks to be in good health and produced two flower stems with 6 closed blooms on each stem but before they get ready to open they drop off! i cit one stem back after the buds have dropped off but the same thing is happening again. can anyone give me an idea of why this is happening?

Is the orchid anywhere near a heat vent or radiator? What's the humidity in the room? Hot and/or dry air could cause buds to shrivel.

Bud blast. Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. The worst is when the orchid only produces one bloom and then blasts. At least with phals or multiple type bloomers, you have a chance to correct whatever it is that you're doing wrong.
I just had a paph get all the way to blooming, and then blast. Now I'll be waiting forever for it to bloom again.
Its caused by any number of things though. Too much water, not enough water, cold shock, etc... Really the best thing to do when the plant spikes is to not touch it (I should take my own advice).

It has nothing to do with the black plastic pot. You haven't said what genus orchid you have, but virtually any orchid brought into a new environment will blast buds when the conditions are significantly different from the greenhouses they were in. Avoid sunny windows, heaters, warm and cold drafts, and warm night temps.

bud blast
i got it as a birthday present it in july of 2012 and it has been sitting on a south facing kitchen window witch is attached to my conservatory, so it does not get direct sun but is nice and bright. i`m not sure of the name of the plant, i tried the bathroom for about a week or so and did not like the location so it went back to the original location, i guess i answered my own question with this statement?
i hope it will recover as it is my pride and joy!
thank you everyone for the advise i am open to any more sugestions on how i could care better for my orchid

Does it have bulbs, or is it leaves on one stem? Actually knowing what it is will help.
