Question What to plant my seedlings in?

I have a pot I love. It's actually 2 pieces. The bottom is glazed and holds water. The second piece fits inside it. It's made of unglazed pottery. The idea being you keep water in the bottom pot to keep the inner pot moist.

Do you think this type of pot will work?

If I don't use this pot I think I'll go with glass so I can watch the roots.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Cattleyas prefer getting almost dry between waterings. I don't think you should use the African Violet pot for them.

If growing on a window sill, I would recommend plastic pots, and a mix with 1/3 to 1/2 spaghnum moss, balance fine bark & charcoal.

I love AV pots - I use them for some of my dendrobiums over winter and they work great to keep them hydrated just enough to not dry out. I think it would work great for that situation with alot of orchids for a dry winter indoors.
