IT FINALLY BLOOMED
Hi everyone
3 1/2 weeks ago I posted a picture of an orchid that was given to me almost 4 years ago, that was finally in bud. I had no idea what kind of orchid it was but everyone seemed to think it was a zygopetalum. Well it has finally bloomed and it definitely looks like a zygopetalum.
I am so excited. Thank you everyone for your help.
Here are some pictures.
I'm having difficulties adding photos, so hopefully they come through ok.
Thanks

Congratulations!
Those are some beautiful flowers. Was there something you changed culturewise to make it bloom? I have a big zygopetalum that I haven't been able to get to bloom in over three years, maybe your tips could help me out

Hi everyone
Thank you for all your responses. Yes, now that the flowers are fully open the fragrance is wonderful.
Kennya, the only difference that has been made is that it is cooler in our sunroom this winter. I don't have a thermometer in there so I'm not sure what the temperature is. Normally we have an electric fireplace going, but our winter, so far, has been much milder so have not turned on the fireplace. Also, I'm not sure if this is the correct medium to have it planted in, but along with the orchid mix I also added a handful of regular potting soil. Hope this helps.
Again, thanks everyone
