But from what I read here, Lowes in the U.S. often has even bloom size Catts with tags for a good price, so would be a good place to start with a Cattleya. Often some desirable hybrids too.
Our society did get some very nice Catts from Sunset Valley Orchids this fall when he was speaking in Edmonton. Prices were only $12.00 and $15.00 per plant. Several have bloomed already.

It's interesting how much these things can vary.
My Homedepot carries only NOID phals and cymbidiums. Recently bag babies have made it to my local Homedepot.
$29 on sale... sheesh. You guys are definitely dedicated to your orchid hobby.
Here, at Lowe's, a full sized blooming plant is $29.99. On sale they drop to $15.
It's a great deal actually. The orchids are always tagged, in excellent shape near me, they come in bloom, and you have a year to return it even if you completely kill it.
I envy your catts from svo. I keep staring at their web page.
