Even though Paph's are normally a "keep moist" plant, you would be amazed at how long they can survive with very little or no water. Also, realize that since they are in the dark they are not photosynthesizing and therefore have a very low nutritional requirement.

I afree with Paphluvr, it may have gone into a 'dormant' type state. So it's requirements are low.

Know that I'm rooting for it all the way from Puerto Rico! Please post a pic when it gets to you Best wishes.

I hope you get it soon! I wouldn't think it would be irreversibly damaged if it were in the box for up to 3 weeks....I think it will be fine....good luck and let us know when you get it!

Thanks guys! I'm hoping to comes too. Maybe it'll be here on Tuesday.

I heard that if CDFA issues a rejection notice, I am given the option to pick up the package. Hopefully they just send the package on and stop dilly dallying.

Any chance you have caller ID on your phone and can back track the number of the caller reportedly from USPS?

Yup, did that yesterday. Looked it up online and found out it is a general number for the city they said they called from which is used for multiple facilities.

Called it back and got to that city's general information thing...

Recognize that it's probably not the USPS that is causing the delay, but the California Dept of Agriculture - or maybe confused hand-off between the two.

Did the vendor affix the proper license notifications on the box? The state of California is pretty exacting about that. I just got a package of plants from Hawaii, and it is prominently stamped on 5 sides with a Nematode Certificate that specifically references a California regulation and permit.

If the package was labeled as containing live plants and that was NOT done, hence the flag for inspection.

Expect more delay as Monday is MLK Day, and while I am expecting my standard FedEx pickup, neither the USPS or CDA will be working.

Yeah, it was a certified nursery. I'm sure they would have.

Hopefully it is just that and it wasn't lost... I hope it doesn't take a long time.
