no silly questions right?
Can the spikes on these be rebloomed like a phal? I have a lot to learn about dendrobiums. Also as far as light should it get light similar to a cattleya or more like a phal?

Nope,it won't rebloom (at least not that I have ever heard of) but it will just dry up and you can cut it off. Yes these can take a lot of light , that doesn't mean full sun all day but early morning sun will do them a lot of good. You will probably see some growth soon too....Jean

I hope so, do they grow a new "cane" every season?

Also I wondered if this is a dendrobium nobile? There are so many different types of dendrobium that I get confused on which care sheet to follow.

No it is not, a nobile blooms on VERY short stems all along the cane. It is PROBABLY a den phal. if it is that, it is a species not a cross between a den and phal. If you go to the Den forum there is a sticky (it is located at the top of the threads) it explains some of the different kinds. In some of those threads you will see a lot pics of different kinds of dens you should check them out..great reading! ....Jean

Den-phal hybrid - a Den in the phalaenanthe section of Dendrobium.
I posted a reply in another thread of yours with a link for care...
Spikes do not re-bloom, but canes can bloom more than once.
Mature plants can get multiple new growths a year.

Thanks, I think the other posts must have been deleted. At least I can't find them now but I'll look again.

All your questions are pertinent and it is not silly at all....White Rabbit succinctly answered all your questions.
Jean (vjo) also gave you the correct lighting for this kind of plant.
You have a hybrid Dendrobium Phalaenopsis with a bigibbum parent by looking at the flower form and color. The mature canes will soon give you a basal keiki or a keiki near the flower spike.
