Went to the Orchid Zone yesterday - was quite an experience being at such a large nursery. I had a blast.

Came home with:

Paph. primulinum var. purpurascens
Phrag. pearcei
Phrag. Memoria Neil Mitchell
Paph. fairrieanum
Paph. victoria reginae (in sheath)
Paph. spicerianum (another lol)

The primulinum was perhaps the best thing I came home with, in terms of a 'find'. These have become very hard to come by, and there were only a few, even at this massive place. I have been looking for a along time, and already have two of the album version. The long spike is on flower #12, and #13 and #14 are developing now. This plant has another spike coming up and lots of new growth.

My favorite of these pics has to be of the paph spicerianum (hope I spelled that right). It's got character. It sort of reminds me of when my dog tilts his head to the side and gives me the, "What?" look.

Jinsf-have you found the den grower in Pacifica yet? Dan Newman of hanging gardens, Pacifica. You have to absolutely go see him. Very knowledgeable on dens and lots of other orchids. Well traveled. You'll love him. Sorry no phn #. I deleted the newsletter.

You are the 3rd person to mention his name to me in the last week. I have his number. I'm not sure he's going to have a lot of what I want, but I will go meet him soon. Seems it's what I should do!

I loved the Farianum. I love when they have stripes on the top part.
