Bud blast after repotting

Hi all and best wishes for a happy 2014!

I searched and saw that this question has been asked and answered many times but I guess I'm hoping there might be a last chance to save my flowers from losing all their buds.

I was having some worries about 2 of my phals (here's why). There were spikes still growing and the first buds had developed and yet I decided to repot because I feared that the roots might begin to rot if I didn't change the environment.
(I'd repotted before when the flowers of one plant were fully open and it went well.)

The roots were in good health though, no rotting at all and I thought I'd done my best - drilled more holes, put pebbles at the bottom, changed coco husk with pine bark and fertilizer from NPK 3:5:7 to 11:4.5:7.8.
However, 2 weeks ago the first bud was about to open, really ripe and it suddenly turned yellow and died, than another, and another...

I now realize that it was all too much of environmental change and read phals are way more sensitive when in bud but I wish the blast would stop and see some flowers before next year, there are still a few buds left to develop.

Can you help me help them?

I don't think there's anything you can do if the blast is due to the repot - it's possible not all the buds will die.

Make sure the plant is not getting any drafts.

Don't feed it anything right now until at least a week or two after the repotting. If you have a hormone available (my favorite is KelpMax from FirstRays LLC Orchids) use this immediately (Superthrive will work). That's your best shot at saving some of the remaining buds before the plant decides it needs to abort them as well and redirect its energy.

Don't do anything! Leave it alone. Keep it on the dry side. The remaining buds will flower. Mess with it anymore and you will reap what you've sewn. Just let it alone. Keep it warm and just damp. Not wet. Just damp. Dribble a little water onto the new media but just a little. Let it repair any damage done and let it grow. Everything you've done so far has made things worse. leave it alone. It will be fine. And that fertilizer is awfully strong. And it doesn't need to be fertilized until after it flowers, and then rests. Unless you see a new leaf or flower spike, it's sleeping and not doing much growing. LeaVE IT ALONE.

Careful neglect... it's always been my motto to orchid growers... overly caring or messing with the plant is undoubtedly the doom of the vast majority of homegrown orchids out there and also where they get their bad rep. as being difficult to grow IMO :-P.
