What to do about mildew on leaves?

Hi all,

This is a phalaenopsis that I brought home from a sales table last week. It's otherwise healthy (even has an emerging flower spike!), but when I went to water it this morning I noticed some mildew on the undersides of the lower leaves. My guess is that the grower had shoddy watering practices (as evidenced by the fact that there's ALWAYS a sales table in the greenhouse).

Anyhow, what's the best way to wipe it off without damaging the plant tissue? Plain water? Rubbing alcohol? Other?

My daughter had a plant come home with that. We wiped it off with a paper towel that we'd soaked in hydrogen peroxide. I haven't seen the evil stuff return since.

It is laying on top of that yellowing older leaf below it. Cut it off that leaf as it is not of value and wipe the mold off with some H202. Don't get the leaves wet.

Thanks y'all. I had already removed the dead leaf, and I peroxided the mildew. It didn't come off easily -- had to scrape it off with my fingernail -- but I think it's gone now.
