Default how to organize my orchids

I'm wondering how to organize my orchids.
Not all are in the same stage; some are active growing and some are dormant. When fertilizing, the dormant ones does not need to be fertilized or less watered. But if you have lots of orchids, how do you separate them? Or are they treated equally despite their stage?

Default how to organize my orchids

Hello kaypee, welcome to the forum.

I own plants based on three factors:
1. How attractive is a plant without its bloom?
2. How easy is it to grow, survive, and bloom in my care?
3. How unique and obtainable is the plant?

I have three growing environments in my home:
1. Eastern facing windows, warm
2. Southern facing windows, warmer
3. Western facing windows, cool

My Phalaenopsis are all growing in the Eastern facing windows. I have Cattleya, Oncidium, Dendrobium, and Vanda growing in my Southern facing windows. I have Neofinetia falcata growing in my Western facing windows. Neofinetia require winter rest so having them isolated in this space meets their requirements. Even though the rest of my plants do not require winter rest, I am watering only weekly. I mist all of my plants daily except Phals. Phals are grown atop humidity trays.

Except for Neofinetia, I feed my plants weakly weekly. I also have oscillating fans circulating air in all of my growing spaces. I have a whole house humidifier and keep 40-50% Relative Humidity.

Welcome Kaypee.

I usually section my plants off according to their light and temperature needs. I have a few that need to winter rest and they are sectioned off so I don't accidentally water them with the others. I have one that is deciduous and needs a winter break too. The first time it lost it's leaves i just about panicked until I remembered it's supposed to do that!

Just section your winter rest plants so you can easily remember not to fertilize and water too frequently.
