HELP PLEASE Roots are white even after water them maybe fungi
My orchids roots are and remain mostly white (most of them ) even i water them They are not soft I see somethnig in wood sticks like fungi (foto) I tried to cut some roots which remain white put new ground and water them with special fertilizer PLEASE HELP THANK YOU
Those white roots will not turn green when watered because they are inside of the pot and not exposed to light. Do not cut them off, they are healthy roots.
I agree. Those white roots have not been exposed to the sunlight because they were in the center of the pot. Only roots exposed to light will turn green when wet. There is nothing wrong with them.
I would throw away the stake. It's common for them to get a little moldy after being in the pot for awhile. It's nothing to worry about.
ΤΗΑΝΚ you Do you think change the pot to bigger is good? Do i need a transparent pot ? This on wood stick the foto i posted does it look like fungi ? I change the pot and ground every 6 months is it short time ?
The roots should just fit snugly in the pot. It doesn't look like it has a very big root system, so I would probably clean and reuse the existing pot....unless it's too big. Always repot with new media. Never reuse the old.
no the pot is a 13 cm I changed to 17 cm which is actually a liitle big but I thought that if it has more space it will be better for them to expand so should i use again the 13 pot and the 17 could be fine
If the pot is too big you run the risk of root rot because the center of the pot does not dry out fast enough. Orchids really don't mind being a little pot bound. I would use the smaller pot.
