Hi there. My choice of wood is cedar. I'm open to other woods, but they aren't readily available around here. I also use coconut cloth to make a little moss pouch around the root ball or base of the orchids. You can see some of my mounts in the mounting section or orchid growing section. I buy planks and drill holes in them. That's pretty much it. I did scavenge a huge branch but haven't put anything on it.

I've seen your cedar mounts and love them...I have some red cedar scraps lying around, so I'll have to give it a try this winter....
