Will be interesting to see what happens next. It's such a small plant I'm sort of concerned about my abilities on this one. But I guess one day at a time.
Wow! That's awesome. PLEASE post pictures here as the plant blooms, it should be pretty interesting.

Very funny coincidence. I guess you were pleasantly surprised.

Apparently, this is actually happening.

I will post updates as it progresses!

Weird... To me that looks like a flower bud opening already. Is it deceptive, or is that what is actually happening?

It's a multi-floral. They spike a bit differently.

Would a barely 16" leafspan (from tip to tip) with .75" wide leaves be considered "near blooming size"? Single growth, thin base of plant.

How long might one that size/width take to bloom?

I just really think it doesn't work that way. Tiny plants can bloom. Large plants can grow and grow and never bloom.

I know people will give specific inches at what point a Sander should/will bloom, but my own disproves that (I think).

Culture has quite a bit to do with it, along with the strength of the plant, and soooo many other factors.

I've written on this board about the "blooming size" term and I don't want to get back on my soapbox, so, I will close this reply for now :-)

Looks like the petals were really folded in there. Too bad the stalk isn't longer, but it's still a bloom.
