I have this catt. And it was a part of a bigger plant that didnt look to good. and Had little roots and was just going to toss but decided i might as well try to see if it will grow. Whats the harm. (Hate tossing plants ha). About a month after repotting it started a new growth. And a couple weeks ago i noticed 5 new roots coming off another p bulb. And they get bigger everyday. Im extremely excited and hopefully it keeps going strong. Ive been reluctant to change anything because i dont want to disturb it. But i did add more light into the mix. Would that cause a change for the worse?

The plant in the back is the one it came off of. And the one in front is the plant itself

Don't change anything until the new roots have grown long. That is the quickest way to make the plant go downhill. If you added more light, that's ok, but don't change anything again!

You have this planted in some very large lava cinder which is good......to a point. I use lava cinder but a little smaller but yours is ok. Because there is so much space between the pieces you can just about water it every day without any problems. This is growing well and the color looks good so feed it lightly. Weakly/weekly is the motto. Be careful not to dislodge it as the roots haven't attached themselves to anything yet. From the looks of the one in the back there seem to be a couple growth buds developing. The color of the leaves indicates the amount of light is goo. Warmth is good for faster growth.

I'm just wondering if the white stuff on the one pseudo bulb of your new piece is fuzzy or is it just a papery covering? The focus on that isn't real sharp but it looks white and fuzzy. If so it could be scale. It is the immature ones (I think) before they develop into hard round circles that move up to the leaves of the plant. Maybe it is nothing but that's what it looks like to me.

It might just be glare in the photo or something but just want to make sure you don't have scale as it is a nasty pest.

Good to know. Scale needs to be dealt with ASAP so I was concerned. Good luck with growing it.
