I also put feeders out for them. They really do love red. Once when we drove up in to the mountains in our red jeep, several of them came to try to feed from it. I also had one try to suck on my red socks when I was on a dock in Northern Ontario.

Wonderful, I love hummingbirds. Only taking good photos can be difficult.
Try to find and grow a Ceratostema. They attract hummingbirds, as they are pollinated by them.

Great pictures! Hummingbirds are ever a joy. I love to see them feeding on our flowers and pollinating my potted pomegranate. We often find the little empty nests in the fall, after the birds have gone.
This autumn, we had six, maybe eight, of them flying from fruit tree to tree...very strange since they weren't fighting. Do they travel together to warmer climates in the autumn? I had never before seen this.

I too love hummers. I had two feeders. One thing to remember is that when they get used to feeders it is important to never let it go dry in winter. The hummers won't migrate and can starve quickly. Always keep it filled. If you aren't going to be around in winter, stop filling the feeders in late summer and that will help them decide to migrate.
