You should look up KevinPR, another member of orchid board who lives in Puerto Rico. He grows mostly species. He can give you some suggestions.

Try Oncidium altissimum (= O. baueri = O. wydleri), a Puerto Rico native. Also, any Tolumnia species should do well

I like some of the Epidemdrum species... Epi. pseudepidendrum is a nice one. Also some very beautiful Dendrobiums, such as dendrobium smilliae, and anteniatum. So many to choose from. I grow all of these warm, they can tolerate bright light and plenty of moisture. I wish I could live in a warm bright climate and grow outdoors year round . Here in Vancouver Canada it is temperate, wet and dark half of the year. Good luck finding your new orchids!
